District 41 has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 24th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. Districts were evaluated on their funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs.
"I am so extremely proud of our music educators. The passion and commitment that they bring to their students is reflected in the magnitude of this award," said District 41 Superintendent Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski. "They truly reach students in a unique way and inspire them to excel. We are extremely fortunate to exist in a community that values and supports the arts. As a district, we have made a commitment to sustain robust programs that thrive due to partnerships throughout and beyond the community."

Welcome to the D41 Orchestra Program,
where playing a stringed instrument
begins an exciting new journey in life! Performing a musical instrument
changes and enhances learning in so many beneficial ways.
Here in D41, Orchestra is an integrated part of our school district,
winning district and state competitions with the highest honors year after year.
Beginning in 5th grade, children grow and develop to become young musicians
who later develop into skilled musicians by the 8th grade.
Our orchestra program creates a sense of family and promotes a friendly, fun environment
for our children. We learn and perform, striving for excellence, together as a team.
If you have any questions about the orchestra program or wish to join,
please contact Ms. Rita Feuerborn (elementary) or Ms. Georgia Alemis (junior high).

"Congratulations to the Hadley String Orchestra for an amazing performance at the Illinois Grade School Music Association Organization State Festival on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Wood Oaks Junior High School in Northbrook, IL. The judges were astounded with the performance sound of our Hadley String Orchestra. Beautiful solo’s were performed by Francesca Di Domenico on violin and Sean Jayme on cello. The Hadley String Orchestra, under the direction of Ms. Alemis, received the highest scores in the state, three perfect 7’s from the three different judges! They received a Superior Rating with High Honors. This is the highest honor a junior high orchestra can receive. The Hadley String Orchestra was the only orchestra in the state to receive this distinction for 2019.
